After a one-week break from its matches, the CSL is returning this week and will open the new round with a game between the current league leaders and ninth placers in the overall standings.

Guangzhou is coming off a close 2-1 victory over reeling contenders Henan Jianye at the Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium on July 30 to bounce back from their previous 1-2 loss to cross-city rivals Guangzhou R&F, as per Shanghai Daily.

Brazilian midfielder Paulinho opened the scoring at the 42nd minute with a brilliant individual move while teammate and compatriot Ricardo Goulart doubled it right at the stroke of halftime from an assist by team captain Zheng Zhi to build a 2-0 advantage at the break.

Team captain Zheng was sent off two minutes after the restart, though, to send the Southern China Tigers one-man down for the rest of the contest.

Henan managed to score against the 10-man Tianhe giants via a penalty kick from Brazilian import Ivo at the 67th, but that was all the Red Devils could do to come up short in their comeback bid.

Evergrande's setback to R&F was only their second loss in the season that head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's side is currently dominating.

Meanwhile, Beijing Guoan nipped Hangzhou Greentown, 1-0, at the Workers' Stadium on July 29 to win their seventh game this term, Xinhuanet reported.

Midfielder Zhang Xizhe provided the winning goal for head coach Xie Feng's squad en route to their third straight unbeaten performance.

The predicted result is a 2-0 win for Guangzhou Evergrande.
