Android 5.0 Lollipop Update: Soak Tests and Early Builds for LG, HTC, Nexus, Motorola, Sony and Samsung

LG confirmed the Android 5 update will start in Poland this week and other key markets will follow thereafter.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for LG G3 features a new design language with more shadows, depth and animation, new layout and lock screen, new color schemes and improvements on notifications.

Meanwhile, HTC One M8's Developer Edition is running Android KitKat with HTC Eye Experience now. It's currently in the Android Lollipop Evaluation Stage. HTC is said to release the Android Lollipop update within three months following Google's official launch.

The Android 5 Lollipop update for the LG Nexus 5, LG Nexus 4, Samsung Nexus 10 and ASUS Nexus 7 was delayed because of bugs and the update is expected to be released on Nov. 12. Users with flashing ROMs advanced knowledge can try to install unofficial builds for Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 through XDA Developers Forum.

The Moto G 2014 and Moto X 2014 are the first two Android devices to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The Moto G 2014 Android 5.0 Lollipop update release is coming soon as invites for its soak test have gone out to device owners and Motorola Feedback Network members.

Moto X 2014 owners also received soak test invites for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update since last week when the release notes were leaked.

The Android 5 Lollipop AOSP build on the Xperia Z3 has changes including a more responsive UI, improved security, better performance and new ways to control its notification.

Sony plans to release the latest update early in 2015 on Xperia Z3 devices first, while Samsung is on its testing phase on the Galaxy S4 and S5.
