Chinese Tennis Star Li Na’s Life To Be Shown On The Big Screen

Chinese tennis star Li Na, currently the lone female Asian grand slam singles champion, plans to immortalize her sports career on the big screen.

We Pictures Head Peter Ho-Sun Chan said that Li Na had somehow found a way to turn "an impossible dream" to reality. He adds that her accomplishments had become a symbol of hope to many people and wants to explore her impact to the Chinese people.

The upcoming biography film has no official title yet but film production is expected to start in the fall and is scheduled for release in the early part of 2016. Li will also take part in the film making process of her life story.  She also urges others to believe and make their own dreams come true.Li wished that her upcoming film will serve as an inspiration to others to fulfill their dreams.

After Li turned pro in 1999, she managed to achieve the second place in the tennis world ranking. Li even recalled the numerous sacrifices she had to make in order to make it her chosen sports and she adds that her life, as portrayed by her on her upcoming biography film, has been worth it.

Li's tennis career earned her nine Women's Tennis Association titles, including the 2011 French Open and last year's Australian Open; however, her chronic injury in the knee has forced her to take a break from tennis since September 2014. 

In an interview in January, Li admitted that she miss her fans and the tennis court. She said that it may take at least a year for her knee to recover, but if she comes back to court, she will no longer do professional competition.

The 33-year-old Li made an announcement in January that she is pregnant to Dennis Chan, a former coach.
