Pope Francis' visit to the United States could delay the shipments of new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in Philadelphia and New York. As reported in Macrumors, Apple is currently sending emails to customers who will possibly be affected by the shipment delays. UPS and FedEx have issued service disruptions advisories due to strict and tight security measures which will be implemented during the Papal visit.

The new iPhone devices - iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus - was scheduled to be launched on Sept 25. Millions of iPhone customers expect to get their pre-ordered iPhone device on or before that date. But this may be delayed due to the security measures initiated during the Pope Francis' visit in the United States.

The Apostolic Journey of Pope Francis is expected to bring hundreds and thousands of people together. Because of this measures have to be placed to ensure the safety of the Pope. The Pope will be staying in the United States from Sept. 22 to 27.

UPS, in its website, announced service disruptions brought about by the Pope's visit to the United States. Security measures are placed in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia. While security measures could greatly impact the delivery of services on these areas, UPS is currently doing its best to augment the delay and minimize the impact of the event on its services.

According to UPS, service disruptions will be effective in a limited number of ZIP codes. As announced, deliveries and pickups on 20008 and 20016 will be temporarily put to a stop.

Likewise, FedEx also issued a similar service disruption notice to its customers. FedEx, however, noted that services will still be going business as usual in some areas. But in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, and Philadelphia, PA will experience a delay in delivery due to restrictions brought about by the Papal visit.

FedEx in order to maintain its 100 percent reliability developed contingency plans to mitigate the impact of the delay. They are also calling for and appreciates the patience and understanding of their customers. More details on the affected areas can be downloaded at FedEx's site.
