Shanghai SIPG manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is setting his target on Kenwyne Jones, who plays the striker position for English football club Cardiff City. Eriksson is hatching a deal in order to bring the Cardiff front man into the Chinese Super League.

Jones, who previously played the striker position for Stoke, is being prepped for a deal to play in the premier football league in China. Eriksson is eyeing to acquire Jones on loan and with future plans for a permanent switch.

The Trinidad and Tobago native has played a regularly for Cardiff City during the 2015 season. He has scored about five goals in 20 appearances.

Analysts see the proposed deal to be a win-win situation for both Cardiff City and Jones himself. First of all, Cardiff City is open to the proposition to let Jones go as it will offload the striker's salary off the club's wage bill. Secondly, by transferring to the Chinese Super League, Jones is off to a big pay day should he accept the proposition.

Jones is nearly ending his contract with the Bluebirds this year. Despite his best efforts, some frustrated Bluebird fans did not celebrate when he was able to score two goals against Brentford during a fixture in December.

The 31-year-old striker is expected to hang his Bluebird uniform within the next couple of days. It is still unknown whether he will make the switch towards the Chinese Super League or entertain other propositions at hand.

Aside from Shanghai SIPG, rumors also suggest that Jones might head to Dubai although the no significant fact has been revealed so far.

It appears that the Chinese Super League is cruising the world in hopes of attracting players. Shanghai SIPG is the same Chinese club that was previously reported to be bidding $110 million in order to persuade Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to join the club.
