According to the 'Dawn of the Dead' director, there are only a few horror films which he thinks are worth watching. He has also revealed that it was ironic how he is not a fan of the horror genre after he directed several more horror flicks including 'Creepshow' and 'Monkey Shines' which was inspired by a novel by renowned novelist Stephen King.

The New York-born Toronto citizen has revealed that his favorite movie was a fantasy opera entitled 'The Tales of Hoffman' which was released in 1951. The director says he particularly likes old movies, admiring the craftsmanship as well as the effort put into shooting them.

"It just makes me drool," Romero said.

He has also stated that he did not make horror movies just to scare people. He claims that the horror movies he'd made in the past were satirical and political which are aspects of movie-making that he doesn't see these days anymore.

His work on the iconic film 'Night of the Living Dead' has been critically acclaimed and is widely known as the father of modern zombie films. The story is always being cited and is being continuously reviewed for its messages on social and political issues.

Romero will be a guest at the Montreal Comic Con and would appear in the screening of 'Night of the Living dead' this coming Friday.
