United States President Barack Obama announced during a White House Address on Thursday that he will be sending 500 troops to Iraq to dismantle the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria, also known as ISIL.

Obama said the U.S. combat troops will not return to the Middle East to engage in ground combat to avoid risking the lives of American military men and women.

Instead, he said the troops will be assigned to command centers located in Baghdad and Ibril. During his announcement, he said 150 U.S. military personnel will assess the skills of their Iraqi counterparts, while another 125 will run U.S. armed drones to bomb ISIL.

The president also discuss the use of air strikes. He said it will give the anti-terror alliance a steady and relentless efforts to quash ISIL. Obama added that they will do whatever it takes to hunt the terrorists down who threaten America.

"If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven," Obama said.

Just this summer, including that of the recent announcement of more troops sent to Iraq, more than 1,500 U.S. troops are already assisting the Iraqi security forces.

To date, Obama is still urging the U.S. Congress to pass a budget bill that will allow for anti-ISIL training. If approved, it will arm Syrian rebels who oppose ISIL and Syrian President Bashar Assad.

There have been 150 airstrikes to date, but according to a U.S. official whose identity remains anonymous, the president made it clear to conduct direct actions against their targets in Syria.

The plans made have not been scheduled yet and talks about the specific timing is still on the works, the official added.

Also, other countries are vouching in adding more and more members to the coalition that Obama started. Secretary of State John Kerry has talked to Iraq this week saying that they are on the side of U.S. as well as Saudi Arabia who implied that they will be helping in the demolition of the ISIS as stated in their emergency meeting last week.
