NBA superstar and Indiana Pacers main man Paul George recently conveyed his personal goal this upcoming season, and that is to win the highly-coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, George said, "I want to be MVP. I definitely want to be MVP this year."

"It's tough, as always. It would be a challenge," he added. "But with coach Nate and the guys that I got here, I'm in position to move into that spot."

According to Fox Sports, George also shared that as long as he remains to be the leading edge of the Pacers and aggressive about achieving his goal, he definitely has a shot at the prestigious title.

While George's goal is not entirely impossible to clinch, he will have a lot of work to undertake to win it.

The NBA never got short of potential players to win the season's MVP award. There are highly prolific staples such as LeBron James of the Cavs and Stephen Curry of the Warriors. However, with the recent lineup changes from major teams, George believes he has a better shot for the title this year.

First up is James who helped the Cleveland Cavaliers win its first NBA title. Many sports analysts believe, though, that James would be toning down his game for this year's regular season to make sure that he is fresh for his seventh straight  bid into the NBA Finals.

Then, there is Curry. The highly-prolific point guard is undeniably one of the most exciting players of the league in recent seasons.

Meanwhile, the recent addition of another superstar caliber in the form of Kevin Durant into the Warriors' lineup would mean that Curry will have to share the ball with Durant, which could eventually mean less production points.

Quietly staying on the side of all this is Spurs' Kawhi Leonard, the unsung offensive firepower of the team. While Leonard may not be as explosive as James or Curry or even George for that point, this 25-year-old superstar will undoubtedly be the focal point of Spurs' gameplay on both ends of the floor. Add to that the leadership role which he will carry on now that Tim Duncan has retired.
