‘No Man’s Sky,’ ‘Pokémon Go’ Help Boost Digital Video Game Purchases

While "No Man's Sky" has been regarded as one of the biggest video game disappointments in recent years, the hype built around the game has helped propel its revenue, according to VG24/7.

Talking about revenue, "No Man's Sky" was on the second spot of the consoles market and sixth on the PC market.

Leading the console market is "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," while  League of Legends" takes the lead in the PC market. Reports have claimed that "No Man's Sky" earned at least $77 million within its first month of release.

On the other hand, "Pokémon Go" has single-handedly dominated the mobile platform, as it helped push the mobile gaming market's worth to nearly $3 billion. The exact figure of how much "Pokémon Go" earned during the first few months on the market is still unknown, though, since its publisher nor developer have yet to release such information.

The top five games with the highest revenue on the PC market are "League of Legend," "World of Warcraft," "CrossFire," "Dungeon Fighter Online" and "Overwatch."

Meanwhile, the top five games on the console market are "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," "No Man's Sky," "Grand Theft Auto V," "FIFA 16" and "Madden NFL 17."

The top five highest-earning games on mobile "Pokémon Go," "Monster Strike," "Mobile Strike," "Clash of Clans" and "Game of War: Fire Age."
