The People's Republic of China will see nearly 600 million Chinese tourists making trips across the country, to celebrate the country's 67th National Day or the "Golden Week."

The days following the celebration saw tourists flocking to local tourist spots or flying overseas, which started Saturday.

China Tourism Academy calculated a 12 percent jump in tourist trips from the same time last year, which left the roads and railway stations packed with people.

Numerous travellers visited their hometowns or made a trip to scenic locations leaving the exit roads of main Chinese towns jammed since Saturday morning. The train tickets for the busiest courses were sold out several days ago.

In Beijing alone, over 100,000 people came to the ceremonies to witness the 17-meter-long flower chain at Tiananmen Square on Saturday, China's official media outlet reported.

As for the people interested in travelling outside, Morocco appeared to be the new hot destination. It was predicted that a 3,500 percent year-on-year increase in visa applications would be seen.

Apart from Morocco, South Korea, Thailand and Japan continue to be the top 10 most popular travel destinations for Chinese tourists, as reported by Ctrip, a Nasdaq-listed travel agency based in Shanghai, China and the state-backed China Travel Academy.

The travel prediction report also said United Kingdom, Cambodia, Russia and New Zealand will each see a 60 percent year-on-year increase as six million Chinese will travel overseas, a record high.

Meanwhile, on Friday evening, Chinese President Xi Jinping and other administrators assembled at a meeting at the Great Hall of the People to celebrate the Communist Party's rise to power.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, on the other hand, expressed his belief that China will be making it to the principal economic goals set for this year and pledged more changes to support the country's growth.

Chinese will be spending $70 billion this year, which is well over 13.5 percent when compared to the data of 2015. This translates to almost $125 for every household.
