It seems like Nicki Minaj's alma mater wants to distance itself from the singer.

The "Anaconda" singer graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in 2000 and had wanted to meet the school's current students last Thursday.

However, to the 31-year old rapper's disappointment, she was turned away by the school. She took to Twitter to rant about her dismay. "I wanted to go back to my HS and speak to the students but the new principal declined. No need for me to inspire them, I guess," she posted.

Minaj has around 18.1 million followers on Twitter.

When she was asked if the school gave her a reason why they didn't want her to speak to the students, the singer replied,  "Not really...I guess I'm not good enough."

The singer was obviously bothered and heartbroken by the fact that the school she referred to as the institution that "changed [her] life" turned her down. She tweeted that she just wanted to pay it forward and inspire the students with her story. Minaj shared that she was really looking forward to a visit.

In 2013, Minaj talked about her New York City-based high school, saying that the time she spent in the said school was the only time she felt that she really fit in. "Everyone there was creative. For once, I didn't feel like there was something weird about me," she explained.

The LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts has included many of today's famous celebrities.

Aside from Minaj, among its other famous alumni are Donald Faison, Liza Minnelli, Isaac Mizrahi, Jennifer Aniston, Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Adrian Grenier, Kelis, Ana Ortiz, Ellen Barkin, Chaz Bono, Sarah Paulson, Wesley Snipes, Paul Stanley, Jessica Walter, Michael Che, Ansel Elgort, and Marlon Wayans.
