South Korean tech manufacturer Samsung  is finalizing the acquisition of Viv, an artificial intelligence and assistance system responsible for creating Siri.

However, the financial details of the deal between Samsung and Viv were not yet disclosed.

Viv was founded by Adam Cheyer, Chris Brigham and Dag Kittlaus, the brilliant minds behind Apple's smart and highly-popular personal assistant which it acquired in 2010. Following Apple's acquisition of Siri, the trio left and founded Viv in 2012.

While Siri is a powerful smart personal assistant, Viv has been praised by many tech experts as a more powerful and more extensible version of Siri.

It was pointed out, though, that despite Samsung's acquisition, Viv will continue to operate as an independent company and will provide services to both Samsung and all of its platforms.

One of Viv's most powerful feature is its interconnectivity that allows the technology to cycle through information gathered across several apps and services used by the user. Through this complex interconnectivity technology, Viv is able to understand more complex queries and provide a more conversational service.

In an interview with Tech Crunch, Viv co-founder Kittlaus said, "Instead of having to write every code instructed, you're really just describing what you want it to do."

"The whole idea of Viv is that developers can go in and build any experience that they want," Kittlaus continued.

When asked why they chose to partner with Samsung, Kittlaus shared that Samsung reaches a far wider user base compared to other smartphone manufacturers.

Simce Viv aims for ubiquity, Kittlaus said they believe that Samsung can help them achieve such goal.
