Yum Brands Inc. CEO Greg Creed said the company will have "higher growth and less risk" after the spinoff.

Yum's China adventure saw some obstacles recently. The company announced slackening sales in the region as its established restaurants in the mainland experienced one percent decrease in revenue. It blamed anti-US sentiments for such slump. Apart from it, it has been plagued with other woes as well, such as bird flu outbreak, increased competition and slow economic growth.

However, with this new development, Yum expects to continue its growth in the country.

Micky Pant, CEO of Yum's China division said the company may expand to have as many as 20,000 restaurants in the country. It currently has more than 7,300 Pizza Hut and KFC outlets in China. The company CEO also said the brand enjoys strong fundamentals in the country.

Pant also elaborated upon Yum's plans for China. He revealed that the company expects its earnings to increase by 15 percent, as it plans to open more restaurants in big cities and new malls. In addition to Pizza Hut and KFC, the company is also keen to promote Little Sheep restaurants and Taco Bell.

Yum China is likely to benefit from the local and technological expertise brought by its partners Primavera Capital and Ant Financial. These partners will hold $460 million stake in the company.
