Unbeaten China Routs Malaysia sets Quarterfinal Showdown vs Qatar in FIBA Asia Champions Cup

China Kashgar continued its winning roll after demolishing the winless Malaysia Dragons with an imposing 124-60 victory in the ongoing 2016 FIBA Asia Champions Cup on Wednesday night in the city of Chenzhou, Hunan Province to remain undefeated ahead of the tournament's knockout stages.

Basing from the box score statistics of the official website of FIBA, Gilas Pilipinas naturalized Filipino player Andray Blatche displayed another all-around game performance by registering another double-double game production of 21 points and 14 rebounds to go along with three assists. The former NBA player went 7-for-7 from the two-point range and made a perfect 7-for-7 from the foul line, while playing for just 21:06 minutes in the hard wood.

Fellow foreign basketball reinforcement Darius Adams beat all scorers with game-high 30 points while posting four assists, three rebounds and two steals to lead the Chinese team to its fourth consecutive victory in four contests played and wrapped up the group stage phase with a perfect 4-0 record in Group B.

Chinese small forwards Abudushalamu Abudurexiti and Kelanbaike Makan contributed 24 and 20 points, respectively, for the host team, who will be facing the Qatari ball squad of Al Rayyan in the winner-take-all quarterfinal round. Al Rayyan finished fourth in Group A having a tournament record of one win and three losses.

The winning side began the game with a strong start, storming the Malaysian team with a 39-5 first quarter outburst. China Kashgar capped the first half of the match with a huge 37-point lead, 62-25.

In the third period, the Chinese team buried the Dragons much deeper by staging another big 37-18 run to enter the final quarter with a comfortable 56-point advantage, 99-43, played with ease in the final period enjoying an enormous lead.

Yi Hou Wong paced the Malaysian team with 22 points, while Tian Yuan Kuek and Chee Kheun Ma finished the game with 10 points each.
