Google has announced that it is bringing its experimental browser project into the mobile platform, specifically for its Android mobile operating system.

The American tech giant revealed via its official blog that it will start offering Chrome Canary for Android to interested users. This experimental browser allows users to try new mobile browsing features before it gets rolled out in the beta community.

"Just like the Canary channel for other platforms, new versions are built from the most recent code available and often contain a variety of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes," Google wrote.

Engadget reported that amid the fact that it sounds like an interesting idea, some tech experts were somehow skeptic. Accordingly, they have warned that using Canary is a bit of a gamble.

Since Google automatically posts updated versions of the browser every weekday without any human testing, there is no guarantee that such features will work.

Meanwhile, it was noted that before becoming available for the Android mobile platform, Google Chrome Canary has only been available for the Windows and Mac operating systems. Even popular Linux desktop distros are not supported.

Google said the Chrome Canary, whose current build of the browser is version 56.0.2891.8, is now available for download from the Play Store.

While there are no noticeable changes compared to the Dev release, some users, as well as tech enthusiasts, are eager to try or spot new features prior to their availability to the general public.

Google Chrome Canary is a good way to experiment with the popular web browser. Moreover, it does not require users to uninstall their current version of Google Chrome to make way for the Canary version. Both versions can run autonomously from each other.
