Golfer Hits Hole in One, Wins a Trip to Space

Golfer Andy Sullivan has won a trip to space after he shot a hole in one during the European Tour.

Sullivan made the shot in the 15th hole and managed to cover 163 yards at the KLM Open tournament.

Despite the prize that Sullivan won, it did not help his play in the tournament.

After a good start in the tournament, including birdies in the second, third, and fifth holes, he could not reach the tournament lead, Paul Casey.

His ace in the ninth moved him within a shot of Casey, but the tournament lead stayed strong and kept his lead.

The prize comes from XCOR Space Expeditions, an American company that concentrates on rocket engine and spaceflight development. It is valued at US $95,000.

The trip to space will be starting in the Mojave Desert. From there, the excursion will take off from a launch pad and travel as much as 39 miles into space before returning to Earth. The travelers will be aboard XCOR's Lynx mark I and II spaceships.

These Lynx spaceships are very unique for travelers, for they also serve as the ship's co-pilot, as the ship only carries two people.

The ship is also self-propelled, not needing to be strapped on to a large rocket engine. Instead, it relies on its four powerful rocket engines to take it into orbit.

Michael Miol of XCOR, said that with this golfing prize, they wanted to let everyone know that space exploration is available for everyone.

He went on to say that these trips to space will be made publicly available by 2015. He also went on to say that they already had 300 bookingss
