(Photo : YouTube Screenshot) Rumors claimed that AMD is experiencing some serious problems with regard to the chipset design of Zen processors.

Following the launch of the new Apple MacBook Pro, AMD also launched the company's new Radeon Pro 400 series of video cards.

AMD said the Radeon Pro 400 are a series of power-efficient graphics cards intended for laptops.

AMD will release three models: the Radeon Pro 450, Radeon Pro 455, and the Radeon Pro 460. All of the three new GPUs are available on various models of the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro.

These are based on AMD's newest 14nm FinFET Polaris architecture, the same technology used for the company's flagship RX 480 graphics card for desktop computers. All of these graphics cards have thermal design power of less than 35W, according to Ars Technica.

Aside from being power-efficient, AMD said the new Radeon Pro 400 series features "the thinnest graphics processor possible." AMD was able to do this by employing a new die thinning process that reduces each silicon wafer from 780 microns to 380 microns.

It is worth noting, however, that AMD has to cut some corners to bring this new GPU series to life.

While the Radeon Pro 400 will work well with content creators, such as photographers, artists and engineers, the GPU might not be able to handle high-end gaming demands.

AMD stated that the Radeon Pro 450 has 640 stream processors, a memory bandwidth of 80Gbit per second, and peak performance output of one teraflop.

On the other hand, the Radeon Pro 455 has 768 stream processors, 80Gbit per second memory bandwidth, and 1.3 teraflops of peak performance output. Finally, the Radeon Pro 460 has 1024 stream processors, 80Gbit per second of memory bandwidth, and 1.85 teraflops of peak performance.

Keep posted for more news updates about the AMD Radeon Pro 400 GPUs.
