Sixers center Nerlens Noel has recently expressed concern about his current situation in Philadelphia, which led to rumors that he could ask for a trade before this season's February deadline, the latest NBA trade rumors hinted.

Noel, 22, is one of Philly's three high-picked young centers, which also includes Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid. This season finally saw the debut of Embiid, the third overall pick of the 2014 draft, which gave the team a nice dilemma of having too many good frontcourt players.

Trade rumors have mentioned Noel and Okafor since the beginning of the offseason and the Sixers reportedly had talks with interested teams about the two big men. However, no official deals were agreed upon as Philly has not encountered a suitable return package yet.

Meanwhile, Noel is currently sidelined by a knee injury that would require surgery to heal. There is no timetable yet for the former Kentucky standout's return, but it has allowed the Sixers to temporarily solve its frontcourt issues as Embiid and Okafor are sharing responsibilities at the center spot in the meantime.

Bleacher Report noted that Noel is concerned about his future in Philadelphia and his personal development as a basketball player as well because of the logjam with Okafor and Embiid, saying that "it doesn't make sense" for the three of them to be together in one team.

"Don't get me wrong. We all get along great on the court and off the court," said Noel, according to Philly.com. "But at the end of the day, it's like having three starting quarterbacks. It doesn't make any sense."

Noel clarified, though, that he loves the Sixers and the city and that "his feeling would not affect his performance."

"I'm here to do my job and play as hard as I can play for the city of Philadelphia," Noel said. "I've always loved the fans from the jump. It's probably one of the realest cities in the country with just genuine passion and love for the sport."

Noel then later revealed that he knew he was being shopped and said that he just "wants to be on an established team."
