European aircraft maker Airbus Group announced that its all new finishing and delivery facility in Tianjin will begin to deliver A330 aircraft in September 2018.

The new Tianjin center will mark Airbus' first overseas completion and delivery center for its A330 model.

So far, it has employed nearly 40 percent of its planned total employment with more than 110 workers. Airbus already sent its first team to train at its final A330 assembly line in Europe last October, China Daily reported. The Tianjin center will take charge of equipping cabins, furnishing, painting the exteriors, and conduction flight tests.

Francois Mery, Airbus China Chief Operating Officer, said A330's cabin installation is more complex and may require a heavier workload compared with its single-aisle aircraft like the A320 and B737.

"That means we are conducting more complicated manufacturing work with more advanced technologies in China," Mery noted.

He also added that Airbus is willing to cooperate with Chinese interior makers to supply them with necessary cabin equipment or materials such as seats, kitchens, walls, and ceilings, according to People's Daily China.

So far, the Tianjin center, which was inaugurated in March, had finished basic construction work.

Airbus said that with its Tianjin center, at least two jets will be delivered monthly, and its work may eventually be extended to an updated A330 version and A350.

Meanwhile, Airbus recently revealed its 20-year forecast for China's aircraft demand, with the country estimated to need about 6,000 aircraft worth $945 billion.

Airbus increased its previous prediction by 500 more units as it took into account China's booming air travel industry, thanks to the growing demand from China's middle class, with overall air traffic growth of over 500 percent between 2000 and 2014.
