The San Antonio Spurs failed to set a new franchise record following its recent loss at the hands of the underrated Utah Jazz.

The Spurs started the season with a formidable 4-0 win-loss record and was on its way to set a 5-0 season opener franchise record, a feat not even the recently retired Tim Duncan was able to achieve in his 19 seasons with the team.

Former Spurs guard George Hill led the Jazz with 22 points and rallied his team to a 106-91 win over the highly favored Spurs. As if to rub salt to the Spurs' wound, the Jazz managed to win in the Spurs' home court.

The Jazz displayed an impressive set of offensive attacks, highlighted by the season high 15 3-point shots made, according to NBA.com. Rodney Hood added 19 points, Trey Lyles had 15 points, and Shelvin Mack added another 14 points.

The Jazz made 15 of its 31 three-point shots throughout the game.

The Jazz capitalized on the team's smaller lineup and decided to play a fast game with emphasis on outside shooting.

Penetrating the basket and playing on the painted area will be a tough game for the Jazz, especially with the constant defensive threat of LaMarcus Aldridge.

On the Spurs' side, the team was led by Kawhi Leonard with 30 points, and Aldridge with 21 points. Paul Gasol, who was recently added to the roster through a free agency acquisition, appears to be on the process of adjusting to the Spurs' dynamics and has, so far, struggled to make its presence known on both ends of the floor.
