A speedy conclusion occured for four convicted terrorists in China's Kunming City as a Chinese court sentenced three men with death penalty and a woman with life imprisonment.

The one-day trial occurred on September 12 after Beijing vowed to rapidly deliver justice for 31 people who died and 150 others who were injured during a mass stabbing assault at a railway station earlier this year.

The Kunming Municipal People's Procuratorate found the three men have been guilty of "leading and organizing a terror group and intentional homicide" while the woman was convicted of "taking part in a terror group and intentional homicide."

On March 1, a group of five people, including Patigul Tohti the woman sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison, were armed with knives when they randomly stabbed commuters and passersby at a crowded railway station in the southwest city of Kunming.

During the encounter, four of them were shot by law enforcement officers while Patigul Tohti was taken into custody for questioning.

The three men sentenced with death included Iskandar Ehet, Turgun Tohtunyaz and Hasayn Muhammad who were all arrested for leading and organizing terrorist activity in the area.

They were caught fleeing the country two days prior to the attack.

According to reports, the mass stabbing assault has been one of the deadliest terrorist-related crime that has ever happened in Kunming city.

Based on reports, the attackers were identified as members of the Uighur Muslims that have been constantly at war with the allegedly Han-controlled Chinese government.

For the last 12 months, clashes between the Chinese government and the Uighur ethnic minorities have erupted along the streets of Xinjiang as a Beijing promised a crackdown on terrorist activities and speedy trials for those who are involved in them.

Most of the terrorist activities in the western part of China, especially in the province of Xinjiang, have been blamed to Uighur separists.

Uighurs are Turkic Muslims who comprise about 45 percent of the province's population.
