South Korean tech giant Samsung has confirmed that it is rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade to two of the company's flagship devices: the Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Samsung confirmed that the company is currently testing the Android Nougat update with selected S7 users though the Galaxy Beta Program. Android Nougat was rolled out in August, and it took around two months for the update to reach non-Nexus phones.

Although Samsung's Galaxy brand is hailed as one of the most popular smartphones running on the Android platform, several other smartphone manufacturers have beaten the Galaxy to the Android Nougat.

According to CNet, Samsung confirmed that starting Nov. 9, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners in the United States, United Kingdom, and South Korea will be able to receive the update. The company added that the update would also be released in China, although a little bit late.

Last month, a leak from American network provider T-Mobile suggested that the S7 and S7 Edge will be the first devices on its network to receive the Nougat update, according to Express. Samsung is yet to confirm whether it plans to roll out the Android Nougat update to other markets aside from those previously mentioned.

Interested beta testers can get their hands on the update early by downloading Samsung's Galaxy Beta Program app. Samsung said that registration for the beta program would be on a first-come, first-served basis. Some tech forum users have reported that slots for the beta program are running out.
