On Sunday's episode of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim was told that a third pregnancy would end up being a threat to her own life due to a risky complication called a "retained placenta".

Dr. Paul Crane explained the condition to the 36-year-old mother of two when she visited his clinic, saying "You will never know if you will have the same complications that you have had during your last two pregnancies the only concern is that this time it could be more serious. There are certain situations in which a retained placenta could be a life or death scenario."

Her mom, Kris Jenner, who accompanied her daughter during the visit then added, "You could end up bleeding to death."

Kim, who is known to be quite stubborn also decided to visit a fertility specialist in hopes of a positive reaction regarding her plans of having a third child with husband, Kanye West.

Unfortunately for Kim the fertility specialist also echoed the same sentiments as Dr. Crane but also gave her advice after looking for a surrogate mother, "Using a surrogate is not an unreasonable option, especially if your goal is to grow your family even more by having more children, a surrogate is not out of the ordinary and in your case, having one would make a lot of sense."

A retained placenta is a dangerous condition in which all or some of the placenta remains in the mother's womb after she gives birth to her child, when this happens the mother can experience symptoms such as stomach cramps, fever, and heavy bleeding.

During her first pregnancy with daughter North, Kim suffered from preeclampsia and placenta accreta which a mild form of retained placenta, she also suffered from the same complications after she gave birth to her second child, Saint, in 2015
