Former NBA Player Jamaal Franklin Scoops His Second Player of the Week Honor this Season in China

Former NBA player Jamaal Franklin of Shanxi Zhongyu Brave Dragons had an outstanding triple-double game performance in the last sixth round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league earning him the right to be named Asia-Basket.com Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The 25-year-old American shooting guard showcased a spectacular game night pouring in 61 points, posting 12 rebounds, and dishing out 11 assists in leading his team in snapping the four-game winning streak of the Stephon Marbury-led Beijing Ducks 125-114 last Sunday night.

According to Asia-Basket report, the former Memphis Grizzlies player had an awesome 70.0 percent shooting clip from the 2-point range and hit 10 of his 13 attempts from beyond the arc region. Franklin has piloted the Chinese professional basketball club to its third victory in six games played in the early stage of the regular season.

Franklin is the CBA's leading player in scoring. He is currently averaging 42.1 points per contest, outperforming the likes of Jabari Brown of Jilin Northeastern Tigers and Jimmer Fredette of the Shanghai Sharks.

The American basketball reinforcement is also the league's top playmaker with an average of 10.3 assist per game. Franklin, who is a 64.1 percent dependable shooter from the field, is now averaging 3.3 steals per outing, which makes him the Chinese league's leader in steals.

Franklin is the 2013 NBA draft 41st overall pick selected by the Memphis Grizzlies. During his rookie season, he played in the NBA Developmental League after being assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

According to ESPN, Franklin appeared in three official matches for the Western Conference team of Denver Nuggets in the 2014-15 NBA season. During his stint with the Nuggets, he is averaging one point and one assist in 4.3 minutes per game.

Franklin played college basketball for the San Diego State University from 2010 to 2013.
