The Oklahoma City Thunder has reportedly remained interested in acquiring Rudy Gay from the Sacramento Kings as the team continues its search for a "bigger" wing player.

Gay has been the subject of many trade rumors since last year. However, it has gained ground in the summer when the 10-year pro publicly stated that he is "unhappy" in Sacramento and that he wants to leave and join a more "stable" franchise.

The small forward, who turned 30 in August, even cited the Los Angeles Clippers and players like Paul Pierce and Jamal Crawford as examples of the situation he wants to be in at the moment.

In another interview, he told reporters that he would be happy to join the Miami Heat if the club wants him, which again indicated his willingness to leave Sacramento.

In September, Gay informed the Kings that he will opt out of the final year of his contract and leave the team in free-agency next summer, which further made trade rumors surrounding him even louder.

Meanwhile, the Thunder has recently revealed that they want a bigger small forward than Andre Roberson right now.

According to CBS Sports, OKC is planning to slide Roberson back to his natural shooting guard spot with Victor Oladipo moving to the bench as the team's sixth man to ensure continuous scoring whenever Russell Westbrook is rested.

While Roberson is great on the defensive end as he is able to defend the opposing teams' best perimeter players, he is a "black hole" on offense, as per NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk. This means that the Thunder will be short offensively if Roberson plays at the two spot and Oladipo demoted as a substitute.

One of the rumored players being targeted by the Thunder is Gay, who is a 6-foot-8, 230-pound versatile small forward that is an offensive force both inside and outside. Gay could also play as a stretch four if OKC wants to go small ball with Roberson and Oladipo at three and two.

However, it remains to be seen what kind of trade package the Kings would want in return for, still, one of their best players. It is also interesting to find out which players would the Thunder offer for Gay.
