The Orlando Magic are reportedly looking to add a scorer to their roster in midseason and Washington Wizards small forward Otto Porter is rumored to be one of the team's primary targets before the trade deadline.

Orlando is currently ranked 29th in the 30-team league when it comes to points scored per possession and it is evident that the team has to improve on that side of the floor.

At the moment the team is led in scoring by shooting guard Evan Fournier with 17.2 points per game while Serge Ibaka is second with an average of 14.8. Nikola Vucevic and Elfrid Payton are the only other players averaging in double-digit scoring for Magic head coach Frank Vogel with 12.5 and 10.0 points per game respectively.

What the Magic obviously lacks at this point is a "go-to scorer who can create his own shot" during crunch time and also a one-on-one player who can produce points whenever the team's offense is in disarray, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

However, these types of scorers do not come easily on the trade market especially since the Magic only has limited trade assets to work on.

Rumors are out that Vucevic and Payton could be placed on the trading block to try and find a potential scorer, which would ideally be an expensive superstar.

CBS Sports' Matt Moore suggested that Orlando should consider trading for a role player rather than an alpha and the Wizards' Otto Porter is one of the names mentioned in the article.

Moore said that the Magic should "find someone with a high level of usage and efficiency" to complement with the current roster instead of losing two-thirds of their starting lineup for a potential team leader.

Porter is probably one of the most efficient and underrated scorers in the NBA right now. The 23-year-old is averaging 14.7 points per game on 53 percent field goal shooting and 41 percent three-point shooting and he is not having enough touches yet. He is also still entering his prime a few years from now which means he is still improving.
