The upcoming Men's Singles Group B round robin match between the two world class badminton players will be their 12th official meetings since the year 2010. Basing from Lee and Son's head-to-head matchup records in the official website of the BWF, the three-time Summer Olympic Games silver medalist enjoys a commanding 10-1 advantage with Lee winning the last six matches they played since 2014.

Son's solitary victory against the two-time Asian champion was in the year 2012 at the Yonex Sunrise India Open. Lee, on the other hand, won his 11th Malaysia Open, his sixth Indonesia Open, and his sixth Japan Open crowns this year along with his fifth Malaysia Masters title and his second Asia Championship trophy.

This year, the highly regarded badminton competition will be boasting a mouth-watering prize pot of USD 1 million.
