Chinese Basketball Association: Jimmer Fredette, Guerschon Yabusele Combine 61 Points to Carry the Shanghai Sharks to Another Victory

The Blue chip team of Shanghai Sharks continued to remain as the most dominant ballclub in the league as they routed Zhejiang Golden Bulls with a 137-98 triumph on Wednesday night in the 20th round of the ongoing 22nd season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

According to EuroBasket, the CBA's leading point producer Jimmer Fredette had another spectacular game performance of 31 points, including five connections from beyond the arc region to lead the Sharks to another victorious ballgame. The former NBA player went 7-11 from the field and played for a solid 33 minutes on the hard wood.

Frenchman forward Guerschon Yabusele also had a good offensive game contributing 30 points while shooting 11 for 18 from the floor and going perfect five for five from the foul line. Chinese players XiaoYu Liu and Wei Lu added with 22 points and 17 points, respectively, for the Sharks, who dished out a team-combined 25 assists during the game.

Zhejiang's foreign reinforcements Willie Warren and Lorenzo Brown paced the losing side with a combined 60-point production. Chinese shooting guard Qian Wu was the only other player of the Golden Bulls to finish the match in double figure with12 markers.

With the victory, the Sharks strengthened their grip to the top of the Chinese league's team standing with an impressive 18-2 win-loss card. It was also Shanghai's second straight win in a row following their stunning loss against the lowly ranked Beikong Fly Dragons, who snapped their winning streak last Friday.

Basing from the match result in the website of the NowGoal, the Sharks put on an early 26-17 run in the first 12 minutes of the ballgame and continued to pound the opposing team with another 36-28 charge during the second quarter to end the first half of the game leading by 17 points, 62-45.

In the final two periods of the contest, the Sharks continued to control the game as they stormed the Golden Bulls with another 36-31 third quarter run and a steaming 39-22 fourth quarter outburst to seal the match with another win.
