The Boston Celtics managed to fend off the late game rally of the New York Knicks and edged out with a close win on Christmas day, 119-114. This is the Celtics' fifth win in the last six games, while the Knicks dropped four games in the team's last six games as well.

The Celtics lead the game for the better part of the second half, until the Knicks' 16-3 in the last four minutes of the game tying the game at one point. The Celtics defense prevented the Knicks from capitalizing on the earlier run with Avery Bradley snatching a key steal from Carmelo Anthony, and Al Horford blocking a shot by Kristaps Porzingis.
