Chinese Basketball Association: Shanghai Sharks Post Another Victory; Jimmer Fredette Erupts with 46 Points

The league leading team of the Shanghai Sharks handed Jiangsu Dragons their 11th loss of the season with a 114-101 win in the 23rd round of the Chinese Basketball Association on Wednesday evening.

According to EuroBasket, former NBA player Jimmer Fredette finished the game with another explosive game performance of game-highs 46 points to go along with eight rebounds, five assist, and one steal. The product of the Brigham Young University went 11-16 from the two-point range, a perfect 15-15 from the foul line, and connected three three-pointers during the solid 48 minutes of playing time.

Frenchman Guerschon Yabusele contributed with 19 markers, while Chinese players XiaoYu Liu and Yi Zhai chipped in with 14 points and 10 points, respectively, for the Sharks, who forced the opposing team to commit 15 turnovers during the game.

Foreign basketball reinforcement MarShon Brooks paced Jiangsu with team-high 45 points, while Jamaican forward Samardo Samuels added with 14 markers and eight boards.

The victory bolstered Shanghai's grip on the top of the team standing with an outstanding 20-2 win-loss card. On the other hand, the 11th defeat of the Dragons put the Chinese outfit in the ninth to 11th place being tied with the teams of Shanxi Brave Dragons and the defending CBA champions Sichuan Blue Whales with an identical 11-11 win-loss record.

Basing from the match result in the website of the NowGoal, the Sharks put on an early 25-22 run in the first 12 minutes of the ballgame, but the Dragons regrouped and staged a 27-24 charge in the second quarter to put game on a 49-all.

In the third period, the Sharks slowly began to take control of the game as they enter the final 12 minutes of the contest with a slim three-point lead, 83-80 after posting a 34-31 run in the third frame.

In the last quarter of the match, the Sharks continued to pound the Dragons and stormed the opposing side with another 31-21 charge to secure the victory.
