The Los Angeles Lakers could land Jimmy Butler and Rajon Rondo from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams, Brandon Ingram, and Metta World Peace, according to latest NBA trade rumors.

The rumor mill is in full throttle as the NBA's Feb. 23 trade deadline approaches and a lot of wild trade speculations are emerging right now. One of the wildest to recently get out is a six-player deal between the Lakers and Bulls.

According to Inquisitr, the Lakers get All-Stars Butler and Rondo while the Bulls acquire Clarkson, Williams, rookie Ingram, and aging veteran World Peace. The hypothetical deal would work when it comes to the league's trade policies but it actually looks absurd as Chicago is evidently giving up too much in the deal.

However, the Bulls could end up getting the better end of the deal as Clarkson and Ingram are two of the best up-and-coming players in the league at the moment. If Chicago indeed decides to push through with a complete rebuild, then getting both Clarkson and Ingram is a good way to start it.

Williams is needed to give the Bulls a reliable veteran guard during the transition while having World Peace gives them the opportunity to re-acquire the player they drafted back in 1999.

Sportsrageous indicated that the Bulls are now "looking to move into another direction and rebuild with younger guys". If the rumors are true, then a trade with the Lakers will not be impossible especially in a package that includes Clarkson and Ingram.

There are reports that the Lakers are not willing to trade any members of their current young core, namely Clarkson, Ingram, D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Larry Nance Jr., to acquire new assets in the market.

This means that obtaining Butler would be virtually impossible for the Lakers if they are not open to give up any of their most valuable trade pieces at the moment.
