Popular platformer game "Shovel Knight" is slated to receive some major update in the coming days as it is expected to get a new name, a new campaign mission, and some changes in terms of pricing as well.

First off, the game will get a new name, "Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove." This title will contain the original "Shovel Knight" campaign called "Shovel of Hope," the "Plague of Shadows" campaign, and the upcoming "Specter of Torment" campaign.

The "Plague of Shadows" campaign was released as a free downloadable content in September 2015. On the other hand, the "Specter of Torment" is a newly developed campaign.

"Shovel Knight" developer Yacht Club Games said that the change in name is a necessary move as the studio plans to release each campaign as separate, standalone games.

In a statement acquired by PC Gamer, Yacht Club Games said, "We want to keep our promise of releasing free content for all players. We also want to continue building these campaigns and features to be the best."

Yacht Club Games also confirmed that a new four-player Battle Mode is currently under development, alongside a fourth campaign. The new Battle Mode is strictly for LAN mode only and not available for online connections.

Another bonus that Yacht Club Games has in store is a local co-op mode. This mode was previously exclusive to the Wii U console, but the studio is making it available to the PC platform completely for free.

In terms of pricing, "Shovel Knight" is expected to hike up its price tag this spring. Yacht Club Games did not elaborate on the matter but did tease that purchasing individual expansion packs will be cheaper than buying the complete game upfront, according to Engadget.
