Six people have been confirmed dead after a massive car accident occurred in the southern province of Guangdong China on Saturday morning.

The incident saw at least 19 cars pile up against each other at the Guangdong-Hunan highway at 9:29 a.m. (local time). Seven of those reportedly caught fire.

The Ministry of Transport and Road Network said that at least 16 people sustained minor injuries from the mishap.

Investigations on the accident are currently ongoing. Roads have also been closed, and other motorists are being diverted to another route.
