Carmelo Anthony is recently mentioned in a suggested six-player trade to the Boston Celtics as rumors abound that the Knicks superstar could be on his way out of New York soon.

Anthony has been in the rumor mill these days after an article by NBA analyst Charley Rosen, who is reportedly Knicks president Phil Jackson's ghost writer and close friend, said that he has "outlived his usefulness in New York", as per Yahoo Sports.

The report had narrated all of Anthony's shortcomings as a Knicks player before arriving at the said conclusion, which made the nine-time All-Star tell reporters that he is willing to talk with Jackson with regards to getting traded if the team does not want him on their side anymore.

"If they feel my time in New York is over, I guess that's a conversation we should have," said Anthony.

With that, Fansided's Daily Knicks noted that the Celtics could make a move to acquire Anthony even though there are speculations that the former NBA scoring champion would only waive his no-trade clause if he is going to be dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers or Los Angeles Clippers.

Obviously, Anthony wants to join a contending squad where there is a chance for him to compete for a championship or at least enter the postseason at this time. The Cavs and Clippers can evidently give him what he wants, but the Celtics are also capable to that if he is added to a team that already has Isaiah Thomas, Al Horford, and Avery Bradley.

Daily Knicks suggested sending Anthony, Maurice Daly Ndour, and Marshall Plumlee to Boston in exchange for Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, Jonas Jerebko, and Brooklyn's 2017 first-round draft pick.

It is quite a heavy price to pay for the Celtics but not only they are getting a huge addition to their core, the city will also benefit from Anthony's crowd-drawing star power.

As for the Knicks, the team gets a great haul to support an upcoming rebuild and future franchise player Kristaps Porzingis.
