Latest rumors are out that the New Orleans Pelicans are offering a trade package that includes Jrue Holiday to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for sophomore center Jahlil Okafor.

Holiday, 26, was the Sixers' 17th overall pick during the 2009 NBA Draft. He played in Philly for four seasons before he was traded to the Pelicans in July 2013 in exchange for Nerlens Noel and New Orleans' 2014 first-round draft pick.

The seven-year veteran had been struggling with injuries, particularly a stress fracture in his right tibia, during his first two seasons with the Pels but is now playing well for head coach Alvin Gentry being the team's second-highest scorer behind Anthony Davis.

He is averaging 16.0 points, 7.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 31.9 minutes per game in 37 games so far this season, which are throwback numbers from his time in Philadelphia.

Holiday, a one-time NBA All-Star, was traded away by former Sixers president and general manager Sam Hinkie in 2013 to start "The Process" but is now being targeted by the present front office for a reunion in Philadelphia, NJ Advance Media reported.

The report noted that "the Sixers are seeking point guard Jrue Holiday back in an Okafor return" as the team is actually targeting to sign the former UCLA standout this summer in free-agency. Holiday is in the final year of his four-year, $41 million deal with the Pels and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the upcoming offseason.

Philly may want to get Holiday before the Feb. 23 trade deadline in order to assess his chemistry with this season's top draft pick, Ben Simmons, as the new starting backcourt for the Sixers before giving him a new multi-year, multi-million deal in the summer.

Sporting News reported that Philadelphia is "desperate to move Okafor" as the team is "stacked at center" with Noel and Joel Embiid also in the lineup. Sixers head coach Brett Brown reportedly "don't have minutes for him" as the combination of Embiid and Noel is deemed better by the club.
