Italia Serie A champions Juventus FC has completed the sale of Brazilian midfielder Hernanes to Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune for a transfer fee of $10.6 million.

The cost of the deal is said to be one of the smallest fees "paid out from the Far East in recent months", according to The Sun. Paying massive transfer fees seems to be the trend these days by Chinese football clubs after Shanghai SIPG splurged $63 million on Chelsea midfielder Oscar and Shanghai Shenhua shelled out $91 million on Argentine forward Carlos Tevez just to name a few.

However, Hebei China Fortune pulled off a bargain of a deal in acquiring an established Brazilian veteran for just a small amount compared to what is being thrown around nowadays. Hernanes, 31, is a highly-experienced midfielder who has been a professional for 12 years. He is a member of Brazil's 2014 World Cup squad and has appeared in 27 games for his country since 2008. He had also suited up for Serie A clubs Lazio and Inter Milan before playing for Juventus since the summer of 2015.

Juve acquired him from Inter at that time for a fee of $11.7 million, which means the Old Lady is selling him at a loss to the China top-flight squad. Hernanes is set to join Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, Ivorian winger Gervinho, Cameroonian midfielder Stephane M'Bia, and compatriot Aloisio as Hebei head coach Manuel Pellegrini's imports, as per BBC Sport.

Hebei finished seventh in the China top-flight competitions last season, seven points short of a spot in the AFC Champions League this year, after getting promoted from the country's second-tier, China League One, in the previous term. The Samba Kings then hired former Manchester City and Real Madrid manager Pellegrini last summer in an attempt to break through to the said club continental tournament next season.

Hebei is now training in Marbella, Spain in preparation for the opening of the new Chinese Super League season which will begin in March.
