Considering LeBron James is paid more to promote his Nike shoe line than the Nike president earns annually, it's no surprise the basketball star was running around promoting his new LeBron 12 shoe line on Tuesday.

James was at Nike's Beaverton, Ore. headquarters on Tuesday showing off the new LeBron 12 shoes that are touted to provide accelerated explosiveness to all those who fork over $200 for pair of Nike Zoom Air enhanced shoes.

Unveiling the 12th incarnation of the LeBrons, James was in a jovial mood, according to reports. He said he would like the shoes no matter what, but since his name and logo are on the shoe, he loved it.

James signed on with Nike in 2003 when he began his journey from highly publicized high school star to NBA superstar. The 12th LeBron shoe features soles made of multicolored hexagonal cushions. They're available when NBA camps open in two weeks.

James has an endorsement contract with Nike worth $20 million for 2014. That's almost as much as he is being paid for his full-time gig as superstar leader of the Cleveland Cavaliers after winning two championships with the Miami Heat. The best may be yet to come salary-wise in the shoe game because Nike doesn't have a salary cap. The NBA does.

As for the shoe, James is promising new lightweight technology and a more comfortable fit. He acknowledged feeling some discomfort while wearing the LeBron 11 a few times during the last NBA season. The lightweight fit will allow for more explosiveness and better absorption when players land on their feet, he said.

And oh, by the way, as for the upcoming season, a slew of new Cavalier free agents like Shawn Marion, Mike Miller and James Jones along with the newly acquired Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love, give James a great complementing cast for a run at NBA glory.

The Cavs only won 33 games in 2014 and haven't made the playoffs since James' departure in 2010. However, James, and his shoes, were looking to take a great leap forward this year. James said he looked forward to being back in downtown Cleveland where he belonged.
