Missed by the world

Chuck Berry was dubbed as the "father of Rock 'n' Roll" and credited for developing the music of rhythm and blues to what is now known as the elements of rock and roll. With songs such as Johnny B Goode, Sweet Little Sixteen, No Particular Place to Go, Nadine, and My Ding-a-Ling, he achieved a cult following that has transcended generations.

Berry is also known for his amazing guitar solos.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. "While no individual can be said to have invented rock and roll, Chuck Berry comes the closest of any single figure to being the one who put all the essential pieces together."

Rock band Rolling Stones paid tribute in a statement, "The Rolling Stones are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Berry. He was a true pioneer of rock 'n' roll and a massive influence on us. Chuck was not only a brilliant guitarist, singer and performer, but most importantly, he was a master craftsman as a songwriter. His songs will live forever."

Artists are also paying tribute to Berry in a series of statements.
