Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz was the hero of the game for head coach Jose Gonzalez's squad as he scored both goals for the Imperial Guards. Yilmaz opened the scoring in the 37th minute as he directed Zhang Chiming's assist past the defense of Shenhua goalkeeper Li Shuai.
Shenhua then leveled the count three minutes later with a goal by Cao Yunding to make it 1-1 at the break.
However, Yilmaz netted the winner with three minutes remaining before full-time to secure the win for Guoan, with the assist this time coming from local striker Yu Dabao.
Meanwhile, Henan Jianye has yet to record a win this season with two draws and a loss after three rounds of competitions.
Their most recent fixture ended in a 0-1 defeat at the hands of newly-promoted side Tianjin Quanjian on the road at the Haihe Educational Football Stadium last Saturday, SBS reported.
Quanjian defender Liu Yiming scored the lone goal of the match in the 21st minute off a cross by former Chelsea flop Alexandre Pato. Both teams went scoreless from then on as head coach Jia Xiuquan's side succumbed to their first loss of the season.
The predicted result is a 2-0 win by Beijing Guoan.
