Astronomers from the University of Utah discovered a supermassive black hole located in the smallest galaxy.

Anil Seth, one of the researchers, said that they are baffled on how a black hole so big can occur in a galaxy that is very small.

However, they believe that there are a lot of similar small dwarf galaxies that may contain supermassive black holes.

The black hole that was found in the center of M60-UCD1, name of the smallest dwarf galaxy, is five times larger than Milky Way.

The black hole has a mass of 21 million stars and compromise 15 percent of the galaxy's total mass of 140 million suns.

Astronomers theorize that the galaxy was once a big galaxy that has 10 billion stars in it which passed to the center of a larger galaxy.

When this happened, the stars and dark matter in the outer part of the galaxy became torn and became part of M60.

Seth said that the M60-UCD1is definitely doomed although he can't say when because the galaxy's orbit around M60 isn't known.

He theorize that the small galaxy might merge with the center of M60 which also has a massive black hole that is 1,000 times bigger than the supermassive black hole find in the Milky Way galaxy.

The black hole in the galaxy will merger in M60 black hole, he added.

M60-UCD1 is found 54 million light years from Earth. It is 22,000 light years from the center of the galaxy M60, which is the largest galaxy that can be found in the local universe.
