Allegedly ZTE Axon 8 Smartphone Spotted on TENAA Certification

An upcoming ZTE smartphone has been spotted on the website of China's telecommunication certification authority (TENAA). ZTE's new device carries a model number of A2018. It is said to be the ZTE Axon 8.

According to the TENAA listing, the alleged ZTE Axon 8 smartphone features a 5.5-inch OLED WQHD display with a resolution of 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered a Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at a speed of 2.15 GHz which is coupled with 4GB of RAM onboard. It comes equipped with a built-in 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated micro SD card.

On the photography department, the ZTE Axon 8 smartphone flaunts a dual camera setup of a 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel rear-facing camera panel and an 8-megapixel front sensor. The smartphone runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box, which is coupled with ZTE's latest customized user interface. Fueling the device is a 3,320 mAh capacity battery.

Connectivity options of the ZTE Axon 8 smartphone are 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and a micro USB port. The handset measures body dimensions of 151.7 mm x 75 mm x 7.7 mm and it weighs around 170 grams.

The ZTE Axon 8 is the successor of the Axon 7 smartphone. The Axon 7 features 5.5-inch AMOLED (2560 x 1440 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, 20-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front sensor, a Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB/6GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB of internal storage, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and 3250mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
