About an hour after their escape, authorities quickly announced to the public on Saturday that a search is underway for five jail escapees who have been described as "armed and dangerous."

Roel Soliz was the last of the five inmates who escaped the Madera County Jail on Friday evening. Four other escapees were captured on Saturday night.

A special sheriff's unit found the 29-year-old inmate from Chowchilla in Fairmead around 3 in the afternoon after police officers on search received an anonymous tip on his whereabouts on Sunday.

However, the sheriff's office declined to disclose further details on his arrest.

The other four fugitives namely, 33-year-old Juan Lopez, 26-year-old Jorge Lopez-Diaz, 25-year-old Abel Ramos, and 19-year-old Ricardo Cendejas, were also located due to an anonymous tip rendered to authorities on Saturday--less than 24 hours before the fifth escapee was captured.

Ramos, Lopez, and Cendejas were detained for charges of attempted murder while Lopez-Diaz was jailed for an alleged armed robbery.

In December, Ramos was also accused of shooting a Madery County deputy sheriff who managed to dodge the bullet.

Soliz, on the other hand, was initially imprisoned for burglary and parole violation.

According to the sheriff's office spokesperson, Erica Stuart, the escapees were all in hiding when they were apprehended.

"They were hiding. These guys were trying to figure out where they're going to go next, just to get out and evade law enforcement," she stated.

Investigations as to how the men managed to escape the prison operated by the Madera County Department of Corrections have already begun.

The other four inmates initially captured were all residents of Madera County. All escapees were still wearing the orange prison jumpsuits and blue and white shirts when they were captured.
