New Season of 'Scandal' Kicks Off Thursday Night on ABC

Top-rated TV soap opera-slash-sensation "Scandal" kicks off its fourth action-packed season at 9 p.m. EDT/PDT Thursday night on ABC. Fans are anticipating another season of twists, turns and thrills in the cult classic show stopper hit.

Referring to the Jewish Rosh Hashanah holiday running Thursday as well, and showrunner-creator Shonda Rhimes, some fans were tongue-in-cheeking it by calling the day Rosh Ha-Shonda.

Promoting the premiere, leading cast members appeared earlier in the day on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

DeGeneres got right into it asking star Kerry Washington which leading man love interest she liked kissing more, Tony Goldwyn or Scott Foley. The 37-year-old star didn't miss a beat, saying she didn't like kissing either one although they were "both lovely men."

Goldwyn, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant, quipped he covered his ears at the right time and missed the answer. Foley said Washington's husband was watching, so she had to answer like that.

Amplifying her answer, Washington, who recently married, in real life, added she enjoyed working with such talented guys, but found it awkward kissing anybody but her husband.

.

One big reveal was a part of the talk show agenda. It turns out actress Portia de Rossi, who remains married to DeGeneres despite rumors they were splitting up, will be a new cast member on the top-rated show.

De Rossi came out to play a funny game show along with the cast called "The 'Scandal' Secret Showdown." She is slated to "shake things up," according to publicists as a new Republican power player on the scandalous scene.

As for the new season's scandals, fans are awaiting the continuation of last season's cliffhanger ending that found Kerry Washington, as Olivia, jetting into the sunset with Scott Foley, otherwise known on "Scandal" as Capt. Jake Ballard. Stay Tuned.
