Nvidia Shield Tablet Receives LTE Support for Better Stability

Nvidia has delivered another update to enhance the performance of its gaming tablet with a goal of keeping up with the gaming trend.

The company's update 1.2 offers better features in the Shield Hub. Similar to Valve's Steam, an internet-based digital distribution and social networking platform, the Shield Hub is a gateway that allows Shield users to access their video game libraries and a storefront to buy new content.

Other added enhancements on the new update include: improved touch performance, a new swipe feature, share functionality for news stories, My Media Apps, customizable “My Android Games", network text capability.

The LTE update miscellaneous stability and localization improvements.

Nvidia's first update happened last July 28 and followed an August 28 update. Its latest update released on September 30.

It finally arrived during the launch of 32GB LTE enabled Nvidia Shield with a powerful Tegra K1 processor.

Nvidia Shield Tablet establishes an evolution of tablet gaming and a successor of the GPU maker's Shield handheld, a gaming device that allows to watch video games to its display from a gaming PC.

Tech reviewers were impressed with Shield Tablet due to its sharp display and stable connectivity.

However, they also warned that the device is not completely flawless and it will be more useful for consumers who truly needs it.

The LTE enabled Nvidia Shield has 32GB memory and costs US$399.
