Jeff Mayweather, the uncle and trainer of Floyd Mayweather Jr., revealed that Manny Pacquiao is one of two contenders being considered as the next opponent for the pound-for-pound champion.

Interviewed on On the Ropes, the elder Mayweather said Pacquiao is definitely one of two fights available for Mayweather at this point of his career, because of its magnitude and the amount of money it would generate. Jeff added that aside from the Pacquiao showdown, the battle against Britain's top welterweight Amir Khan is another enticing option.

"To be honest, I can't really say who it is because I'm not one hundred percent sure. If they do it by names - which Floyd normally does - it may actually help the pay-per-view revenue, it's gonna possibly be Khan or maybe Pacquiao next for Floyd, because there's no other options out there in the weight class that make any sense."

Mayweather is fresh from another unanimous decision win over Argentine slugger Marcos Maidana to preserve his WBC and WBA world welterweight and super-welterweight championship at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.

Mayweather, who improved his record to 47-0, shocked everybody at the stadium by expressing his interest in finally taking on Pacquiao after several years of failed negotiations between both camps.

"I got to go back and talk to my team. I'm not ducking or dodging no opponent. If the Manny Pacquiao fight presents itself, let's make it happen," Money May told Showtime's Jim Gray. "He's got a guy in front of him [Chris Algieri on Nov. 22]. Once he gets past that task, we'll see what the future holds."

However, the hype for the fight of the century has been once again overshadowed with doubts following last week's verbal wrangling between the two top prized fighters, with Pacquiao doubting if Mayweather really intends to fight him, and the Grand Rapids native calling the Filipino slugger broke and desperate for a bigger paycheck.

Roberto Guerrero, who once fought Mayweather and was almost tapped as Pacman's opponent for Nov 23, said the word war between Money May and Pacman could eventually lead to a real brawl inside the ring - the fight capable of breaking all kinds of records in the sport's history.
