Sony recently revealed it's working on social experiences for the PlayStation 4's VR headset Project Morpheus.

The company's in-house London Studio, creator of EyeToy Camera Singstar and The Playroom, will be working on the project.

The London Studio has its own history of creating a lot of social games.

"Having that social screen is really important to us. There's actually quite a lot you can do with that. We've been doing lots of companion apps as well-you can interact, you can see what they're seeing-you can imagine that with a haunted house, and you can totally see it-the payoff is brilliant," said Dave Ranyard, Director SCE London Studio, in an interview with British entertainment and media news website Digital Spy.

Ranyard said Sony's ongoing demos it uses to display the device, Street Luge and The Deep (which puts the player in a shark proof cage), are definitely cool. He said, however, it's too soon to predict whether they'll evolve into full blown games.

"[Morpheus is] still a prototype, we don't have a date on hardware. We're very pleased with some of the things that we've done, so it would be lovely to get out there to an even bigger audience than the people that just go to shows," Ranyard added.

Shuhei Yoshida, Sony's president for Sony's Worldwide Studios, recently disclosed the company has completed 85 percent of the work necessary to launch the consumer model of Project Morpheus.
