For weeks, there have been rumors going around that a third "Sex and the City" film is being planned and is on its way to production.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis, who plays writer and fashionista Carrie Bradshaw and prim and proper Charlotte York respectively, may even have chatted up about it on Twitter.

Davis, who played Charlotte York since the beginning of the HBO series and again in the two movies released in 2008 and 2010, recently sent a tweet to SJP on Friday, October 3.

"@SJP Miss YOU XOXOXO!! <3," she wrote to her former co-star.

The tweet also included a throwback candid photo of them holding hands while wearing priceless couture. The background of the image was a tarpaulin for the "Sex and the City" film.

SJP wrote back very quickly with a tweet that hinted the possibility of another "Sex in the City" movie, and their possible involvement in it.

"@KristinDavis Me too you! Heard the news? X" SJP wrote back.

"@SJP Yyyeessssss... But I'm afraid to get TOO excited yet - You left me know when we can celebrate. XO," the actress tweeted.

Their little Twitter conversation sparked a huge excitement for the fans of the show. Many of them tweeted SJP about what news she was referring to, but all SJP would give back was, "That news zooming around."

While two out of four of the girls seem to be in the loop about all this "Sex and the City" madness, Kim Cattrall, who played sexy and vulgar Samantha Jones in the popular series, seems to know nothing about it at all.

When fans asked her if she knew anything about the possible reboot, the 58-year-old actress responded, "News 2 me... Rumors like this are flattering."

The rumors started spreading like wildfire when Jennifer Hudson, who played Carrie Bradshaw's fierce assistant Louise in the first movie, told Dish Nation in a radio interview, "I think it might be [happening]. Somebody just came to me talking about that. So if it's in the talks, it might happen. So look for it."

Cynthia Nixon has not yet released any statement or comment on the rumored "Sex and the City" movie.

Nixon expressed before, though, that she would not be as excited as her co-stars to reprise her role as the strong lawyer Miranda Hobbes. "I think we had a wonderful ride. I think it's fine to let it go," she said back in 2012.

However, just March this year, she told Marie Claire UK, "If [creator] Michael Patrick King thinks that he has another script to write and Sarah Jessica is signing up for it, well of course I would be thrilled. But it's got to come from them," she said.

"If they're on board, and they're moving forward, then I'd be right there with them," Nixon added.
