‘7th Heaven’ Dad Stephen Collins Fired From ‘Ted 2’ Amid Child Molestation Claims

Veteran television star Stephen Collins has been cut from the upcoming comedy film "Ted 2" amidst a child molestation controversy, an entertainment portal reported Tuesday.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the 67-year-old actor had a small role in the sequel to Seth MacFarlane's trash-talking teddy bear comedy.

But after a recording of him was shared by TMZ admitting to molesting three young children, MacFarlane and Universal Pictures decided to immediately end his involvement in the film.

The Entertainment Weekly noted that representatives for the film confirmed the firing.

However, reps for the movie did not clarify on what type of character Collins was supposed to play in the film, which is set for release in June next year.

But they added that it is small enough to be removed "without any major disruption or rewrites of the project."

Earlier, Collins himself teased fans about his part in "Ted 2."

When asked about the character he will play in the film, the actor tweeted: "I'd tell you but @SethMacFarlane would have to kill me."

Collins is best known for his role as beloved father and pastor on the long-running drama series "7th Heaven," which ran from 1996 to 2007 on the CW network.

As previously reported, TMZ has obtained a recording of Collins in a 2012 therapy session with estranged wife Faye Grant.

Assuming the voice on the tape belonged to the actor, Collins openly admitted to placing the hand of an 11-year-old New York girl on his penis and that he was "partially" erect at the time.

The star also said he exposed himself to at least two other minor girls, one of whom he contacted "12 to 15 years ago" to make "amends."

Collins said one of the young girls is the niece of a Los Angeles neighbor.

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that an official of the New York Police Department said they are now in possession of the tape and has started an official criminal investigation against Collins for "inappropriate sexual contact with minors."

The Los Angeles Police Department, on the other hand, is now collaborating with the NYPD for the "reinvestigation" of the molestation case involving Collins.

TMZ learned that the LAPD actually launched an investigation into molestation allegations against Collins back in November 2012.

However, the source from LAPD said they closed the case because there was "no verified victim."

The source added that the LAPD is now "re-listening" to the recording to see if they "missed anything."
