Ervin will play the role of "Amazon Eve," the role which was actually written for a man, she revealed.

In an FX clip, Ervin revealed that she was actually ready to perform a man's role.

"I auditioned for the part as a guy, slicked back my hair, no make-up...flannel shirt, bound my breasts, dropped my voice and walked in, and nailed it," Ervin said as she was preparing for the casting process.

In the clip, the actress also talked about the struggles that she had to overcome, particularly with her family, when she decided to come out as a transgender in 2004.

"My first inkling of knowing I was different was when I was about 4 or 5," she said.

"It was an issue of gender ... it's not until later on that I discovered there was a way to fix it."

To this day, Ervin is still estranged with her father.

She hopes that her role in the TV series will mend her relationship as she gives herself a hand to "make it on TV and film."

Furthermore, the actress hopes that her appearance will help the transgender community at large.

"It's more than a freak show," she said.

"There's a family here."

Born William Ervin, Erika was hailed by the Guinness World Records as the World's Tallest Professional Model in 2011. Her other acting credits include: Google Maps is Watching You (2011) and Hemlock Grove (2013).

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" will start airing Oct. 8 on FX.
