A quadruple-homicide has been reported in one of the homes located at Guilderland, New York as police officials found four bodies on Wednesday afternoon. The victims were identified as members of the same family.

Officials only released the ages of the massacred family saying that the father was 37 years old, the mother was 39 years old, and the children, who were both boys, were ten and seven years old.

The family was said to be Chinese, and were murdered inside their home. However, the officials did not specify how they were killed. Also, no other information has been stated regarding the names of the members as the officials handling the case pressed that the relatives of the family have not been notified yet.

Due to the fact that the family was Chinese, police are said to be working closely with translators who are fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin so as to make the case a little bit easier to crack. The language barrier is another factor that makes the case difficult rendering the police unable to give as much details about the crime, explains Guilderland Police Chief Carol Lawler.

Rumors have surfaced that a third child was found alive and unharmed. However, police cleared the circulating news saying that only four bodies were found. In addition, all family members found were evidently dead upon the arrival of the officials. The officials are said to be investigating still and are performing autopsies on the bodies.

The police also did not release information with regard to any possible suspect, but has already secured the neighborhood so as to assure that the other residents in the area are not subjected to any kind of danger.

Schools nearby were locked down at around two in the afternoon on Wednesday as the police discovered the gruesome crime. The schools then reopened on Thursday morning.

According to District Attorney David Soares, the community in Guilderland is very tight-knit and the locals are very concerned about the family. However, he pressed that the situation should not become a ruckus for the public as they are doing everything they can to catch the culprit.

The police also urged the public to give information via their hotline (800) GIVE-TIP.
